Names
How does someone who has a hard time deciding what to order for lunch ever pick out a name for her baby?? After all, I eat the lunch and in a few hours, it won't matter what I ate, I'll be hungry again. On the other hand, a name is a key part of someone else's identification for his or her entire life (assuming I don't mess up so badly he or she legally changes it). As someone who likes to try to consider all the options, I've created a spreadsheet of literally dozens of names (well over 100). Somedays I think I like them all and won't be able to decide. Other days I don't like any of them and want to start the whole process over. On one of the baby name boards, one of the participants was asking everyone to vote on their favorite name for her new son....he is three weeks old and the hospital is nagging her for a name for the birth certificate. Somedays, I'm afraid that will be me. I know that at somepoint, we are going to agree on a name and I'll just have to do my best not to second-guess that decision.
