Back-dated
After my regular 6-month dental appointment this morning, I stopped by the Birthing Inn to go through their pre-registration paperwork. It's all stuff that can wait until we are admitted, but saves time and distraction if it can be done ahead of time. So I filled out the portions of the birth certificate and SSN application that I could and signed a couple of other forms. A couple of the forms I brought home to discuss with Jesse before signing. There was also a variety of informational materials they gave me about such things as their lactation consultation services.
Then I headed across the street for my 39 week midwife appointment. Everything seems to still be going well. I hadn't gained any weight in the past eight days, so still at 147. However, my fundal measurement did increase to 37 cm, so I must have re-distributed some weight. Beta's heartrate was higher than it had been at the last several appointments--about 162, but the midwife didn't seem to be concerned. She did a check of my cervix and decided that I was dialated about "a fingertip." Still no signs of imminent labor and delivery, but nothing that says it can't happen at anytime. She recommended that I not skip meals and that I make sure to stay rested--don't want to be tired or short of energy when labor does commence.
