Had a midwife appointment this morning. All continues healthy and well. I'm up to 131 pounds--another 5 pounds since my last appointment and 13 pounds total for the pregnancy.
The midwife measure the fundal height at 23 (in?). I think the general rule is 1 inch for each week at this point in the pregnancy, so maybe a bit on the small side, but she didn't seem to be concerned about it. Beta's heart rate was 148 when she listened. She took a look at the ultrasound report and declared herself please to see that all looked good. She then checked dates and suggested that I not travel more than 1-2 hours out of town after November 11, based on a December 23 due date. (Not sure at this point whether we'll ignore that to go to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving or not.)
It was so fun for me to see TGM at this appointment. Before the midwife came in, TGM asked me what the doctor was going to do. I explained that we would discuss how things were going and then she would feel Beta and listen to Beta's heartbeat. During the appointment, Tabitha was playing quietly with toys while I was talking with the midwife. She continued to play and ignore us while the midwife measured the fundal height. But as soon as the midwife had the doppler out listening for the hearbeat, TGM instantly dropped her toys and ran over to the examination table asking, "Is that Beta's heart beat?"
