Midwife Report @ 29 Weeks

Had an appointment at 29 weeks today. They usually try to do it at 28 weeks (last week), but I didn't want to commit to last week due to possibilities of surgery and such.

At today's appointment, I weighed 136 pounds--up another 5 pounds from my appointment 5 weeks ago. They measured my fundal height at 27 cm--2 cm behind what might be expected at 29 weeks, but the midwife didn't express any concern. The heartbeat was still a healthy 146 and he was moving around.

Today's appointment included a 2-hr glucose tolerance test, for gestational diabetes. My appointment was at 8:30 in the morning, so they had asked me not to eat after midnight. Had my blood drawn as soon as I got there and drank the drink, had my appointment, a blood draw at the 1-hr point in the test, and a blood draw at the 2-hr point in the test. As TGM was with a friend, it gave me some time to work on my cross stitch project. I didn't have any side effects from the test, so left feeling pretty well and got something to eat.

I should hear tomorrow if there were any abnormal results from the tests. With the blood they drew, they will also be checking iron and platelet levels. I'm expecting I might hear something about my iron levels, since I did at this point with my first pregnancy.

Also today, they scheduled appointments for the rest of my pregnancy through 40 weeks--appointments every 2 weeks, then every week for the last 4 weeks.

The last appointment, at this point, is the day after Christmas, but I'm hoping/thinking I won't really go that long, since I'm in silent disagreement about the most accurate due date. But then again, since I'm measuring behind on fundal height, maybe I'll go longer this time.
