In the first couple of weeks of December, I went in for a blood test for pregnancy.
Going in for the blood test at my regular OB, I was reminded why I don't like to have to drive that far for appointments (traffic and time) and discovered that within the past six months, the practice had quit using the Loudoun Hospital (closest for us, about 14 minutes away) and was only working with the Reston Hospital (about 28 minutes away).
And while I'm reminded I really shouldn't complain about even 28 minutes (for my mom's last delivery, she had to drive an hour for appointments and to reach the hospital), when there is a closer option it is so much nicer (my mom's first four deliveries were all at the local hospital, only 5 minutes away).
The result is that I'm working with another practice that is located just down the block from the Loudoun Hospital and Birthing Inn, and the practice does do deliveries there.
Anyway, JM lost patience with waiting for the results of the blood test and brought home an EPT for me. Not surprisingly, it came back positive. A result that was confirmed by the OB's office a couple of days later.
He was so elated by the results of the EPT, that he took a picture and saved it to be posted later on his Facebook. And while we had agreed not to tell friends until after we told our families (and that we were going to wait for that as well), JM had BABY so much on the mind that day that he made some friends suspicious with his random comments and jokes.
