Pre-pregnancy skirts that fit perfectly at the waist (generally those made my mom without elastic), have been relegated to the back of the closet for the time being. Skirts that used to hang on my hips now fit perfectly around the waist. Skirts with elastic waists are definitely snugger than in the past. The only thing keeping me in pre-pregnancy jeans and slacks is the BeBand.
I have one pair of maternity slacks that I first wore back in early March that are a hip-hugger style. We broke the news to my family at Christmas by giving Mom fabric and a pattern for maternity pants. She has mailed the completed pants to me and I am enjoying them! They fit so well--tailor made!! Then I've also pulled a second pair of maternity pants out of the box from Lindsey that are pretty well-worn jeans with a stretch panel. They are a little short in the legs, but bearable and comfortable. I was still wearing the BeBand with them this weekend, as they felt a little loose yet.
Visiting the outlet mall over the weekend, I took a quick browse through Motherhood Maternity. At this point, almost everything looked like it was the wrong color (oranges, browns, greens), the wrong style/size (skirts don't reach my knees and slacks don't reach my ankles), or the wrong price. Maybe some of the styles and prices won't look so bad when I'm a bit more desperate for clothes.
