Movement!

In the last couple of weeks, I have definitely gotten better at identifying when I'm feeling Beta move. Some women talk about feeling flutters or butterflies. Not me! I definitely think of what I feel as more like punches, kicks, or perhaps bouncing her whole body into my side. At this point, it doesn't hurt. It is about like getting a friendly thump or pop from a finger--but without the sting. Joyce says that definitely sounds like Jesse's baby!

On more than one occasion, while I was driving home from clogging in the evening, I have felt Beta move. I suppose the change from dancing with music to being (relatively) still and quiet somehow triggered the movement.

Last night, I was going to bed while Jesse was in the shower. Beta started moving around and kept moving almost the entire time Jesse was in the shower. That was the longest length of time I'd ever felt movement. Part of the time I pressed with my hands a bit and felt some movement that felt more like she was turning or rolling, rather than just feeling the punches and kicks. By the time Jesse got out of the shower, she had calmed down or I might've tried to see if Jesse could feel any of the movement. When I was feeling with my hands, I really wasn't sure how much I was feeling from inside and how much I was feeling with my hands.

Over the last weekend, we tried to take some belly pictures and Jesse took the camera to work, so maybe they'll show up sometime soon. Jesse still says I don't have much of a visible bulge. I'm sure it is more noticeable to me than to other people, but I certainly have had a number of people commenting that I am starting to show, so it isn't all in my imagination.
